Welcome to Southern Salt Therapies

Updated: Jun 21, 2020

Welcoming you to our salt spa is probably one of the most exciting parts of the day. We are reminded of the wonderful benefits and can't wait to show you a whole new side of salt!

Are You New to Salt?

If it is someone’s first time at the spa, we welcome them in and ask that they choose a locker to store personal items such as purses, shoes, and basically anything they do not want salty. If they aren’t familiar with the benefits of salt, we explain that salt is antimicrobial, antibacterial, and a natural decongestant. Our salt or halo generator pumps in dry, micronized pharmaceutical grade salt particles into the air. The particle sizes are about the size of your pores, so it’s excellent for skin absorption, but most importantly for the inhalation benefits. The salt enters the lungs and can settle in the smallest air sacs, the alveoli. Once in the lungs, salt works to bring moisture from the vessels to loosen mucus or sputum that is residing there. Salt works to express the excess mucus and pathogens to clear the airways. It’s excellent for chronic conditions like asthma, allergies, sinusitis, COPD, cystic fibrosis, sleep apnea and others. It also can greatly decrease your downtime during an acute infection like the common cold and bronchitis. Are you excited to join us yet?

About the Salt

The salt being used is pure Sodium Chloride that is crushed, ground, and dispersed into the air using a Halogenerator. Deep breaths are suggested, to be able to inhale as much of the salty air as you can!

Benefits of Salt Therapy

Salt ions purify the air and may even increase lung capacity, and can reduce physical ailments for adults, children and athletes. Treatments are recommended to help keep the body healthy during flu or allergy seasons.

Skin conditions can also be improved with halotherapy (psoriasis, rashes, eczema, acne). Average table salt can have drying properties to the skin. However, pure mineral salts have natural moisturizing properties and support the skin’s water balance and barrier function by attracting moisture to the skin.

The antibacterial properties have been shown to kill acne forming bacterias, and help keep acne under control. Along with absorbing toxins, impurities and oil, balancing out the skin's natural oil levels!

Salt sessions can improve our health and mood. Inhaling these particles may reduce inflammation and mucus in the lungs, improving respiratory conditions such as asthma, allergies, bronchitis, sinus congestion and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Scientific studies have shown that people with asthma and other ailments have been able to breathe easier after halotherapy.

The services we offer are:

1 - 45-minute session $25

10 - 45-minute sessions $210

Children’s sessions $15 for 1st child, $10 per subsequent children.
